Midi Programming
These are some examples of just how amazing programming can sound when done properly. In this first song, every instrument apart from the acoustic guitar and obviously the vocals are programmed.
Production
As we mentioned elsewhere in the site, Production is one of the best jobs we get to undertake at TrackWriters. This first example is 'Not Ready For Forever' by Kieran Johnson. What Kieran came to us with was a brilliant but very simple piano led song. He wanted it professionally produced and when he played it to us we could just hear in our heads exactly how it was going to come out the other end. What started as a simple piano song was five hours later transformed into this beautiful epic...
The second Production sample falls into the Production category and also into the MIDI Programming category. This is a dance song we composed and recorded from scratch without ever meeting the client we composed it for. It was ordered by email and we composed it and sent it back to the client, who loved it and used it in a student documentary...
The third Production example is by a young singer called Kat Gullick. Again, Kat came to us with her lyrics and a few ideas about the chords of the verse and chorus and we did the rest! The song was transformed from a good idea into a brilliant song. This is 'Be Individual'...
Mastering
This is a song by a brilliant band called Jazica, who recorded this song by themselves and sent us the file for mastering. You can see how much louder and fuller it sounds after having been mastered. This is the un-mastered version they sent us...

Vocal Production
Here is a song by a great London rapper called Kluez. This song, entitled 'Dad', also features the vocal talents of Donna Odain.
Cover Versions/Backing Tracks
We have a lot of fun here creating from scratch cover versions of songs and backing tracks for people. Here are a few of our favourites...
These first two are two contrasting pieces by the same singer. Lily Frazer is one of the best singers we have heard here for ages. When Lily sang this first song, 'No Good Deed', from the the musical, 'Wicked', at the studio, we were blown away by the power and confidence of her voice.
This contrasting piece by the same singer is a cover of 'The Scientist' by Coldplay...
These next two song are bound to melt some hearts. Daisy, age ten, and Ruth, age nine, are two sisters from Worcester. Daisy's dream was to sing her very own version of 'Wish I Was A Punk Rocker (With Flowers In My Hair)', by Sandi Thom. Ruth is singing in the background as well...
A few weeks later they were back again wanting to sing another song for a family friend of theirs. We got on straight away constructing the backing music and this time the whole Wakefield family came with them to add their own voices. This is the Wakefield's version of 'Close To You (They Long To Be)' by The Carpenters...
...Incidentaly, the song was for a friend of theirs called Steve who just happens to be a carpenter.
Film Score
This first sample of our Film Score service was written for an advert made by a small production company. The brief said 'Slow, synth based but with a beat' and that's what we did. All instruments in this piece of music are programmed...
This example was written for a film about a suit of armour. It was synched to the footage as it was written and was supposed to be a very sinister, discordant piece with several shocking stabs of horrific sound. Spooky...
This peice is a very simple but effective string and brass orchestra peice written for a production company for a scene at the end of a war film...
Finally, this last piece of music was written for a production company looking for music for their Gameshow. They wanted cheesy 'Blind Date' cliche type music and that's just what they got!
